FESTIVAL FIRST NIGHT

The KIDS FIRST program begins the event at 2pm in Hyde Park. From New York, Dan Zane & friends will present a musical treat of various genres including rock’n’roll, gospel, blues and folk.

Hip-hop artist, Nick Power, will get the kids and parents moving and shaking with music and dance moves - showcases of capoeira, acrobatics and body-popping will also be in full effect!

 

The Taronga Zoo will have it’s mobile station there where kids can interact and learn more about conservation and the animals.

Erth, a collection of life-like baby dinosaurs will be sure to please young and old alike.

FESTIVAL FIRST NIGHT

The Sydney CBD once again closes it’s roads to cars to make way for the outdoor celebration thats marks the beginning of the Sydney Festival for 2009. Seven stages across the city will showcase a variety of creative performances from 7 pm.

Everything from gypsy folk, Brazilian samba, Big Band beats, soul, hip-hop, Indonesian percussion to Latin, break and indigenous dance - there is even a fire-fuelled organ performance in Martin Place.
