Opera in the Caves, Jenolan Caves: February 14th

This Valentines Day, Feb 14, Jenolan Caves is offering an extravagant, romantic and unique experience.  Bring folding chairs, wine and nibbles for 2 to the spectacular Grand Arch (Australia’s biggest open cave).  To satisfy the heart of the most ardent romantic, The Underground Opera Company will present the world’s most stirring operatic works, in Opera in the Caves….

You won’t need to be an opera fan to recognize and appreciate musical greats from Carmen, Madame Butterfly, the Barber of Seville, Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera and especially the immortal Nessun Dorma from Turandot.  Eyes will sparkle!  Hearts will melt!  Wear something warm and cuddly, and bring a blanket for two.

This is an opportunity to experience artists at the top of their field, in one of the world’s finest cave systems.  The Underground Opera Company presents the talents of national and international performers Sophie Wotton, Jennifer Turnbull, Lionel Theunissen and Glenn Lorimer (former principle and soloist for the Scottish National Opera Company and the London Opera Company) with the sensational John Woods on piano.

Indulge yourself and someone special in a romantic weekend package, with heart-melting opera, glorious crystal-filled caves, lavish dinners and fine wines. Jenolan has recently become the first establishment in Australia to serve Joseph Loriot-Pagal from Festigny, Champagne, France.  Jenolan’s first cave wine cellar will open on Valentines Day.  Guests can purchase excellent wine (including Rosemount Estate’s Flagship, Balmoral Syrah) from the cellar or they can store wine in the cave, in anticipation of their next visit.  Stay that weekend in atmospheric Caves House, and enjoy champagne, chocolate, rose petals, candles and dessert served in your bedroom!  Irresistable!
