Renowned make-up artist, Bobbi Brown shares her tips for Fair complexions.

Skin: Bobbi believes all women  should love the skin they’re in; so if you are naturally pale, learn to embrace this feature. Her greatest piece of advice is that if you have a pale, freckled or porcelain complexion you should play it up, not down. “Don’t try to use self-tanner or bronzer to warm up your skin tone; it probably won’t work,” explains Bobbi. If there is any redness, dark circles or noticeable blemishes on your skin, try using a foundation stick to cover them up and then use a pale face powder to set your make-up.

Cheeks: “Pale pink and apricot blush is the way to go,” advises Bobbi. Make sure you avoid anything with a brown undertone – it will make your skin look dirty, she explains.

Eyes: Cool tones work best for pale skin, advises Bobbi. White, shell, grey, navy, slate and cooler brown tones teamed with black mascara will make the eyes stand out. She cautions against using shades with red tones in them, as they can make the eyes look tired.

Lips: “Soft pastel tones, true and clean bright colours and rich burgundy shades look great,” advises Bobbi. Women with fair complexions should also avoid wearing brown tones on their lips as they tend to ‘drag’ down the complexion.
